Our geographical location is the main reason for the exceptional quality of our spruce: we are located right in the middle of Scandinavia’s finest spruce region. And from Iisvesi our products are shipped daily to our export customers in Europe and Asia.

Iisveden Metsä Oy is a company owned by local inhabitants. This creates clear prerequisites for all our operations. We take responsibility of not harming the environment or the forest nature. Our forest procurement is controlled by the criteria of PEFC FI 1002:2022. Iisveden Metsä Oy has been granted Chain-of -Custody certificate no DNVFI-PEFC-COC-000067. We have been granted the right to use PEFC logo (PEFC/02-32-39).
The management of Iisveden Metsä Oy has the responsibility of following the requirements of Chain-of-Custody system according to the PEFC ST 2002:2020 Standard. The management has committed itself to follow the requirements of the standard, and to control that no wooden raw material originates from controversial sources. Moreover, the management is committed into carrying its social responsibility and to upkeep a working environment which conforms to the standard.

HISTORY
Our production technology has developed remarkably during the last decades. An investment program started in the 1990’s has kept the machinery up to date and has guaranteed the competitiveness of our production.Our annual production has tripled during these years. However, our basic principles have not changed: we process high-quality spruce for demanding end uses. Our customer relations are long-lasting and tight. We will always act in a responsible and dependable manner, be it raw material procurement, production of sawn timber or shipping of ready material – just like we have done for almost a 100 years.
Our annual consumption of spruce logs exceeds 320.000 m3. Our procurement area covers ca 100 km radius around the mill, extending itself to the regions of Savo and central Finland.
Our forest department has long traditions of forest procurement, and will always strive at maintaining a high quality in all our operations.
